History
History of Zoology Department
The University of Medical Technology, formerly known as the Institute of Paramedical Sciences was founded on 30 December 1991. It was first located at BOC college, Thahtone Street, kamayut Township. In 2001 it was moved to the present campus in Aung San, Insein.
From its establishment in 1991 until 2001 the head and the staff members of the Zoology Department of University of Medicine(1) took responsibility in teaching Zoology subject.
In 2001 to Recent the department was run by the Head of Lecturer, an assistant Lecturer and five demonstrators.
Zoology, one of the premedical subjects, has been taught in 1st year, B.Med.Tech since that year.
