History
The department of Prosthetics and Orthotics (Dept. of P & O)officially opened on 17 January 2015, is one of the four faculties
of the University of Medical Technology, Yangon. It is the only trainer of Prosthetists and Orthotists in the country and is a
partnership between the Ministry of Health, The Nippon Foundation (donor) and The Cambodia Trust (facilitator).
Goals of Dept. of P & O
- To produce skillful and competent Prosthetists and Orthotists with professionalism and ethic
- To produce Prosthetists and Orthotistswho appreciate the collaboration between health practitioners
- To improve the quality of lives of people with disabilities by equipping, empowering and enabling them
